Day 5: Saturday-Not-Your-Typical-Church

The hurricane destroyed the Community of Christ Church in Kathmandu last spring, and it has been rebuilt with bricks and boards and tin and held well over one hundred folks today! Dancing, singing, honoring, story telling, and small bows while saying Jemaste were all the norm. (Those who are Christians say Jemaste instead of Namaste on Sundays) Though HealthEd Connect is a separate NGO entity and not church-sponsored, the church is a "friend" and we all celebrated in song today. There might be fewer material possessions in the typical Nepali home, but you will see plenty of phones and ipads capturing memorable moments :)  The fearless HealthEd Connect leaders in Nepal are Jac and Sherri Kirkpatrick, Michelle Malik, and locals Pinkey and Binod Malla (translator).
