Day 15: Festival of Color Holi Day and the Sweetest Old Couple

It's hard to leave Tadapani and my lovely "corner window" view of Fishtail, but today is Holi Day, a joyful Hindu celebration known as the festival of color celebrating the incoming spring. We are "marked" by a sweet young girl as we leave the teahouse and wear our color all day :)  We see big bright spots on the stone steps where school kids threw colored powder at each other all day. Halfway through the day we walk through the yard of an older couple. Apparently he fell from a tree several days ago and hurt his knee. They were wondering if we could help. Lage, our Norwegian friend who is also an orthopedic surgeon, took a look and gave out advice and some painkillers. As I asked to take a photo of them as we were leaving, this sweetest ever woman grinned at her husband and brushed a lock of hair away from his face. Such a tender gesture. I wonder if their children are off in Dubai or Seattle working and sending money home to mom and dad.  Crossed several suspension bridges today heading to Chhomrong - then we begin the climb to the Annapurna Basecamp (ABC)!
