Day 6: MONKEYS, Prayer Wheels, and HealthEd Training Begins :)

The training for the Nepalese Soyamsebika (volunteer health care workers) began today in fine form. Twenty four motivated young men and women showed up from all parts of Nepal to participate and we all immediately loved and connected with this attentive, lively group. Afterwards, several of us hiked to the Monkey Temple...where I "connected" with a monkey much to Vern's chagrin. He did get one photo, but when the monkey started chewing on my necklace, all Vern could think about were transferable monkey bite diseases...yikes! I snatched back my necklace with a "NO" and firmly pulled his little hand off mine. LOL! Then, after a few clockwise spins on the lovely prayer wheels, we ended the day with fabulous Nepali food at the New Orleans Cafe. Go figure! :)
