Day 3: Down to Business, Dramatic Change of Scenery, and Passport Panic
We spent an idyllic morning on the beach overlooking "The Palm" in Dubai where Gioia, a Swiss National, engaged us in a fascinating discussion on world issues, then an afternoon on Sultan's family farm compound...but I have no photos of how we accidentally got dropped at the wrong terminal in Dubai (our mistake), or of the dicey Fly Dubai airlines (compared to Emirates), or when I absolutely PANICKED for a good three minutes when my passport had slipped in between our seats on the plane, the crazy late night shuttles getting to the Kathmandu terminal, or the hour long wait for our one bag, or the smiling face of our taxi driver with our names on a card followed by a wild drive deep into Third World Kathmandu to the Hotel Manang. However, I do have a photo of the very cool group of people on the HealthEd Connect team we will be spending the next eight days with. :) The second part of our adventure has begun!
