Polliwog Knees and the Tall Woman Sculpture

I cannot believe an artist can make this incredibly expressive face in STONE on this 9 foot tall goddess. Just look carefully at her face. The sculpture gardens at Roche Harbor, San Juan Island, Washington state are fabulous. This year, many of the pieces of art were accompanied by a short poem by D.M.Jenkins. I loved the one about Polliwogs waiting for their knees! Oh to spend so much time thinking about something, observing carefully, experimenting with materials, then actually doing it. Wow.
