23rd Annual New Sock Drive!

Five hundred and fifty one pairs of socks and $10 were donated to the Annual Valentine's Day Sock Drive, which means, when matched and purchased, there will be 1,122 pairs of socks available for those down on their luck in Spokane County this spring.  Cheers to Phil Snowden Elementary School and the Spokane Community of Christ Church! The sock drive is now twenty three years old and still going strong :)

Focus on the Crocus

Oh such a perfect beauty is this lovely little purple crocus. Nearly one year ago was my first blog post of a snow covered tulip in the same place. It radiates such fabulous color in the bright sun...a nice "almost" birthday present for me :)

Senior Capstones and I'm Not in Charge...

I still get kind of giddy when I go up to my old university and sit in on senior presentations...and don't have to grade ANY of the 65 papers. I just get to smile and enjoy and go home.  Ahhhh.... :)

Quilter's on the Deck and Daughter in a Cup

I gathered with 17 friends at a retreat center on Coeur d'Alene Lake for the TWENTIETH time last weekend. We call ourselves "Ladies of the Lake" (Lollies) and we quilt. We also gab, laugh, dance, drink a little, reminisce, hike, share heartfelt and hilarious stories!  I had this mug with me to think of my own sweet daughter :) I am so grateful for the incredible women in my life.

My Lenten Roses

This is SUCH a cool plant!  It's ability to bloom in the darkest of winter when many things are still frozen solid makes it my garden hero :) Called the Christmas or Lenten Rose. Very appropriate for this time of Lent.
